Museum of Fine Arts of Seville
It is important to know that this museum is considered
as the most important museum in Spain, after the Prado
Museum in Madrid.
It is situated in the old "Convento las Mercedarias
Calzadas de la Asunción".
It was inagurated as a museum in 1841. It contains one
of the world´s best collections of Spanish art
with the Works of Murillo, Velázquez, Valdés
Leal and all the representatives of the Seville baroque
school.
There is a very important collection of the best school
of paintings of local customs and contemporary life
in 19th century Seville.
The Museum organises different temporary art exhibitions
during the year.
